Instructions

Step 1

Switch off the phone, disconnect the charger from it, remove the battery, SIM-card, and when repairing the version equipped with a memory card, remove it.

Step 2

Use the correct size hex screwdriver to loosen the screws. Do not try to use a Phillips or slotted screwdriver - the slots can be irreparably damaged and it becomes impossible to open the phone.

Step 3

If only the display or camera is being replaced, skip the steps for disassembling the bottom of the unit. You still need to remove the battery, SIM card and memory card.

Step 4

Remove the two screws, one located next to the SIM card holder and the other on the opposite side of the case.

Step 5

Remove the back cover. Use a SIM card as a tool to separate it. Perform this operation carefully so as not to damage it.

Step 6

On the side of the cover facing the USB connector, there are two ribbon cables connecting the nodes located in the cover to the nodes located in the body of the phone. Therefore, lift the opposite side to avoid damaging these cables.

Step 7

Disconnect the connectors from the board located in the cover.

Step 8

Remove the four screws located on the back of the cover using a standard Phillips screwdriver. Remove the grounding bar and pad.

Step 9

Remove the clear plastic cover and then the board. The speaker will remain in place. If it is defective, remove and replace it.

Step 10

Carefully peel off the sticker located in the battery compartment.

Step 11

Disengage the six latches and remove the keyboard.

Step 12

Remove the false dummy and remove the four screws located around the screen.

Step 13

Using the SIM card as a tool, separate the cover of the upper half of the case.

Step 14

Disconnect the two connectors located between the display and the camera.

Step 15

Disconnect the external display and camera board by prying it off the side opposite to the camera.

Step 16

Replace the internal display or camera, whichever fails.

Step 17

Assemble the phone in reverse order.
