Instructions

Step 1

Set up your default microphone: - Open the Start menu, then enter the name of your device in the search field. When the result appears, select the "Device Manager" item in the list;

- open the item "Sound, video and game controllers". By clicking the right mouse button on the line "Audio driver", remove the driver for the microphone;

- after the audio driver is removed, open the "Start" menu again, write the word "backup" in the search field and click "OK";

- a menu will open in which you need to follow all the instructions, after which the audio driver will be installed by default.

Step 2

Check if the microphone is working properly: - since most often the built-in microphone is located at the top of the display, adjust the laptop monitor so that it is located directly in front of your mouth;

- to record sound through the built-in microphone, it is advisable to choose a room in which there is no background noise;

- open the "Start" menu and enter the word "Text" or "Sound" in the search field. Select "Sound Recorder" in the list of results;

- start "Recording" and say any sounds into the microphone. After that, save the file in a convenient place for you, for example, on your desktop;

- to play the recorded sound, open the desired file through "Windows Media" or any other player;

- if there is no playback, start following the steps in the next step.

Step 3

Check the microphone settings: - in the "Microphone" item, select "Properties" and make sure that it is turned on;

- open the "Levels" tab and select the maximum value for the volume parameters (100%);

- open the "Advanced" item and check the boxes that are possible on all fields;

- click on the "Apply" button, and then "OK". Then close all windows;

- Record sound again to test the microphone.
