Modern laptops differ from their predecessors in portability. Their distinctive feature is the presence of many built-in devices, including a video camera and a microphone. Before the first use, the question of the quality of the microphone's work arises. You can check it for performance in several stages.

Instructions

Step 1

Set up your default microphone: - Open the Start menu, then enter the name of your device in the search field. When the result appears, select the "Device Manager" item in the list;

- open the item "Sound, video and game controllers". By clicking the right mouse button on the line "Audio driver", remove the driver for the microphone;

- after the audio driver is removed, open the "Start" menu again, write the word "backup" in the search field and click "OK";

- a menu will open in which you need to follow all the instructions, after which the audio driver will be installed by default.

Step 2

Check if the microphone is working properly: - since most often the built-in microphone is located at the top of the display, adjust the laptop monitor so that it is located directly in front of your mouth;

- to play the recorded sound, open the desired file through "Windows Media" or any other player;

- if there is no playback, start following the steps in the next step.

Step 3

Check the microphone settings: - in the "Microphone" item, select "Properties" and make sure that it is turned on;
