Quite complex microprograms are embedded in modern TVs. They are necessary for the correct operation of the device and for the display of the visual menu. To fix some errors, it is recommended to update the TV software.
It is necessary
- - USB storage;
- - firmware file.
Instructions
Step 1
Visit your TV manufacturer's website. Open the "Downloads" section and select the desired item in the "Category" column. Now select the type of TV you are using. It is worth noting that devices with a conventional LCD display and LED panels are of different types.
Step 2
Select the exact TV model you are using. Click the Downloads and Documentation button and wait for the list of available files to be generated.
Step 3
Go to the Firmware submenu and download the latest firmware for your TV. After downloading the files, prepare your USB drive. It is better to use a regular USB stick rather than an external hard drive. This will make it easier to scan your device.
Step 4
Format the USB flash drive using the FAT32 file system. Some TV models also support NTFS, but it's better not to risk it. Run the downloaded file, which is a self-extracting archive. Specify the directory where the files will be extracted.
Step 5
Now copy the unzipped folders and files to the root directory of the USB stick. Safely remove the USB stick. Turn on your TV and plug the drive into an available USB port. Disconnect all external devices including antenna cables and HDMI connectors.
Step 6
If the TV automatically detects the presence of firmware on the USB flash drive, a corresponding window will appear. Just click the "Yes" button.
Step 7
If not, use the remote control to open the Firmware Upgrade menu. Specify the port number to which the flash drive is connected and wait for the drive scan to complete. Confirm the start of the firmware update process.
Step 8
After completing all the necessary procedures, the TV may turn off automatically. Turn on the device again, check its functionality and remove the USB flash drive.
