Sometimes you want to give a more aesthetic look to the information carrier, say, if you are collecting a video collection or a photo library. You can also make a festive print, and the disc will look like a pretty decent gift. This procedure can be done by yourself at home using simple devices.

Instructions

Step 1

Print the desired design on special photo paper for making these labels. But this method has a lot of negative reviews, because if you place the sticker on the surface of the disc inaccurately, you can break both the disc itself and the drive. Also, asymmetrical labels can unbalance the disc, which can lead to problems with reading information and damage to the disc.

Step 2

Buy yourself a DVD-RW with LightScribe capability. Using this feature, you can burn a black and white picture on special discs. It does not cost much more than a regular floppy drive, but it is also an ideal solution. Suitable for unpretentious users, since the pictures come out of mediocre quality.

Step 3

Create a sticker with Nero software. To do this, run the program, go to the "Add-ons" tab and click the "Make a sticker or label" button. After that, select one of the templates from the list, edit it to your liking and save. Insert the disc you want to make a sticker on and click "Burn". If your drive is capable of recording labels, recording will start.

Step 4

Print the label using a dedicated photo printer that supports this function. To send a label to print, create it and save it using the Nero software as described above.

Step 5

Use the services of a photo service center if you do not have the necessary equipment. Today, almost all centers and printing houses can satisfy such requests.

Step 6

However, if you do decide to make stickers yourself, carefully study the composition of the paint so that it does not affect the disc itself and spoil it. Also, some adhesives can negatively affect the protective lacquer finish of your disc (these are usually made with solvents that will corrode the lacquer).
