Each memory card or flash drive contains a microcircuit that is controlled by the firmware. If you remove it from the computer or other media incorrectly, this program crashes, and the memory card stops working. How can you restore it?
It is necessary
- - damaged memory card,
- - a program for reading codes,
- - file recovery program.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to recover a damaged memory card, first find out its model and manufacturer. After that, find special utilities for working with this controller. Finding out this will not be difficult.
Step 2
To do this, take your USB flash drive in your hands, carefully open the case with a knife and read the controller model name. Be careful and attentive, as most often such data is displayed on the very case of the microcircuit. If you did not find anything there, then determine the controller model by manufacturer ID and device ID, that is, by special firmware protection codes VID and PID. After the codes are found, download programs from the Internet that recognize these codes.
Step 3
Do not be discouraged if the program cannot read the codes, as you still have a chance to recover a damaged memory card. Try another way. Find a manufacturer using these codes. To do this, use special databases. For example, you can use the iFlash base.
Step 4
After you determine the manufacturer, find a service utility on the Internet to work with this controller microcircuit. You can download such a utility from the manufacturer's website quickly enough and completely free of charge.
Step 5
Upon completion of the restoration of the controller microcircuit, try to pull the data out of memory. Remember, for this you will need to use special data recovery software. Keep in mind that absolutely any program is suitable for this, including LostFlashFoto.
Step 6
If the damaged files could not be recovered, and they are of no particular value to you, then conduct a test for bad sectors in the memory card.
