Instructions

Step 1

Download a program for working with files - a file manager. One of the best is called Total Commander. Open any browser and type in the address bar the site address https://www.ghisler.com/download.htm. You will immediately see the Direct download link. Click on this link and start downloading the file. There are other shells for working with files, for example, Frigate, available at https://www.frigate3.com/rus/download.php. Next, we will consider the work of Total Commander.

Step 2

Install the program. To do this, double-click on the downloaded installation file, select Russian from the list that appears on the screen, and click "Next". Agree or refuse to install additional languages, here the choice is only yours - this will not affect the program's capabilities in any way.

Step 3

On the next page of the installer, select the folder where the file manager will be installed: by default, this is the C: drive and the totalcmd folder. Click the Next button after selecting the folder and click Next again on the next screen. The installer will ask where the launch shortcuts are needed - check the boxes below and proceed to the next screen. A successful installation message appears. Click OK.

Step 4

Start Total Commander. Double click on the shortcut on the desktop or open the folder where the program was installed and run the file Totalcmd.exe. A window will appear with a message about the paid program and the terms of free trial use. Click on the option you want and check the “Disk Buttons” and “Two Disk Buttons” boxes at the top of the window.

Step 5

Then click the OK button to save the settings. You will see the program window, divided into two halves, with a list of files and folders on the left and right. These halves are called file manager panels. Above them there is a row of buttons with the letters of your drives.

Step 6

Connect your card to your computer. If you have a mobile phone, player, camera or other device with direct connection to a computer, then use the supplied USB cable. Plug it into the computer with one end and into your device with the other. After a few moments, you will see a message about the new device that the system has detected. Also, a new button for the drive will appear in the Total Commander window, for example, J or F. It will be marked with a green arrow, which underlines the status of the temporarily connected device.

Step 7

Turn on the display mode for all files in Total Commander. Click the "Configuration" button in the program menu and select the "Settings" item - they are located at the very top of the window, under the heading. Select the "Panel Content" section in the left column and tick the top item called "Show hidden and system files". Click on the OK button to save and apply the settings. Now the program is configured in such a way that you can view all the files on the memory card.

Step 8

Select the button with the drive letter corresponding to your device. In the panel, you will see a complete list of files and folders that are on the media.
