Modern TVs have wide functionality, but in order for a person to take advantage of all the possibilities, the TV must be connected to the Internet and set up correctly.
TV manufacturers have recently begun to add an Internet connection function. Anyone can connect to the Internet with virtually no problems and take advantage of the opportunities provided. It is worth noting that on each brand of TV, setting up and connecting to the Internet is carried out slightly differently. You can connect the TV to the Internet either using LAN or using Wi-Fi (it is believed that the second method is much more convenient, since it does not require any wires).
Internet setup on LG TVs
If you bought an LG TV and want to connect to the Internet using a LAN connection, then you first need to connect an Internet cable to the LAN port on the TV. Then, using the HOME button on the remote, you can open the Smart-menu, where you need to find the "Installation" item. After clicking, a new window will open where you need to go to the "Network" tab and select the "wired" mode in the "Network settings" field. The connection can be established automatically by selecting the appropriate item ("IP Autoconfiguration"). Naturally, you can enter the necessary data yourself, and for this you select "Manual setting". After confirming the operation, the TV will check the network settings and display the results on the screen.
If you are going to connect your TV to a network via Wi-Fi, then you need to check if a Wi-Fi adapter is installed in your TV (information is in the user manual). If it is not there, then you will have to buy a Wi-Fi adapter that works via a USB connection and insert it into the corresponding socket on the TV. In the network settings, you need to select the "Network settings: wireless" item, and in the next window you need to select the preferred connection method (for example, "Settings from the list of access points"). After the TV detects your Wi-Fi router, namely your access point, you can select it and connect to the Internet.
Internet setup on Samsung TVs
If you have a Samsung TV, then you need to go to the "Menu", select "Network", and then "Network Status". A list of settings will appear, where you need to find the "IP Settings" field. Here you need to make sure that the IP and DNS parameters are in the "Receive automatically" mode. Then you need to return to the "Network" item, select "Network Settings" and press the "Start" button. After that, the TV will search for available connections, and when a list of available connections appears, you can choose exactly the one to which you want to connect. After you select it, you need to enter the security key (the password that you set to protect the network). If you entered it correctly, then the TV will connect to the Internet.
