While using the phone, many people face such a problem as memory overflow. Various music is downloaded to the phone, pictures and videos are dropped, photographs are taken. Some people use the phone's memory card as a portable flash drive. All this leads to the fact that sooner or later the memory card fills up and needs to be cleaned. Of course, this can be done manually by removing unnecessary or annoying pictures and music, but this process is long. The best way is to format your phone's memory card.
It is necessary
- - phone memory card;
- -computer or laptop;
- -adapter for the card.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that there is no important and valuable information on the phone memory card that you are going to format, as all files on the card will disappear after formatting. If the necessary files are on the card, transfer them via bluetooth or USB port to a computer or laptop. Check if you have saved all the files you need, then turn off your phone.
Step 2
Remove the memory card from the phone and insert it into the adapter, which must be inserted into a special slot on the computer. From the Windows menu, click "My Computer" and wait for the memory card icon to appear on your computer. Then select the folder of the connected memory card. Using the right mouse button in the map menu, find and select the "format" function. The computer will ask a question confirming the selected function. Confirm your decision by clicking on the "OK" button, after which the formatting process will begin.
Step 3
You can also format the card without using a computer. To do this, go to the phone settings and find the menu of your phone memory card. Usually this menu is called "memory card" or "Media Card". Click "options" and from the list of proposed functions that are feasible with the card, select "format". Confirm your choice and wait for the end of the process. The card is now formatted and ready for use.
