The main advantages of satellite television are the high quality of the received signal and the presence of a large number of channels available for viewing. It is not surprising that many Russians are thinking about purchasing a set of equipment for receiving satellite channels.

Instructions

Step 1

Start choosing a set of satellite equipment by examining the list of operators that broadcast satellite channels. These can be operators such as NTV-plus, Tricolor TV, Raduga TV, Orion Express, Platforma HD and others. Each option has both pros and cons. The most inexpensive and widespread is a package of channels from Tricolor TV - the cost of an annual subscription is only 600 rubles. But it should be borne in mind that the price of a set of equipment for receiving channels of this operator is overstated and will cost you, with installation, in the region of 10 thousand rubles. Equipment for receiving channels from other operators is cheaper, but their subscription cost is much higher.

Step 2

When buying equipment for receiving satellite channels, do not take small diameter antennas. For example, if an antenna with a diameter of 55 cm is sufficient to receive the Tricolor TV signal, take a 90-centimeter one. This guarantees you confident reception in all weather conditions - for example, when passing through a strong thunderstorm front. A small "plate" in such conditions does not work well, the image on the screen crumbles into squares or disappears altogether.

Step 3

Choosing a receiver (satellite receiver), pay attention to what encoding it "understands". There must be a slot for connecting special cards that allow you to receive a signal in one or another encoding. For example, if you use a receiver to receive Tricolor TV channels, you can also watch NTV-plus by inserting a module that supports Viaccess coding into the receiver's slot. Since both operators broadcast from one satellite (for the European part of Russia), you can easily receive both signals at once. At the same time, you can watch the basic Tricolor package - the main federal channels - for free. The more slots on the receiver, the more operators you can connect to.

Step 4

If you choose a receiver with a large number of built-in encodings, it is advisable for you to purchase a rotary antenna. In this case, you can easily move from one satellite to another. If the satellites are located in relative proximity, several converters (receiving heads) can be installed on a fixed antenna. In this case, the antenna diameter must be at least 90 cm.

Step 5

There are receivers with a hard disk that allow you not only to record the movies and TV programs you are watching, but also to do it automatically. This function will allow you not to depend on the broadcasting network - you can set up the receiver to record films and TV shows you are interested in and watch them later, at a convenient time for you. There are models that allow you to watch one TV channel and at the same time record another. A useful option is the presence of a USB output, which allows recording the received signal to a computer.
