And if you install an IR receiver on a computer, you can remotely control it. It's very easy to do it yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect the IR receiver to your computer using the supplied wires. The operating system will detect the presence of a new device. Install the receiver driver and run the program.
Step 2
Select the type of your circuit in the program settings in the IR receiver tab, after which it will be detected by the computer and launched.
Step 3
To test the IR receiver, use a remote control such as a TV or music center. Enter it into the program, select its location and read the codes of each button. Test the remote control on computer controls. In fact, you can use any IR remote control. You can also use one remote control to control multiple devices. It is only necessary that they are not near the computer, otherwise they will perceive signals and commands from the remote control at the same time.
Step 4
When adding a new remote control, specify its name. Then use the mouse to select each button in turn on its diagram. To do this, press the corresponding button of the real remote control after the request. Set a unique code for each button.
Step 5
Bind commands to remote control buttons. To do this, go to the "Actions" tab and call the setup wizard, which will provide you with a list of programs that can be controlled using the remote control. After that, go directly to defining the required commands for the buttons.
Step 6
Here, act at your own discretion and depending on your needs. One button can execute several commands at once, depending on which program is running, so this is a creative process. Thus, you can set up remote control of absolutely any programs on your computer using one remote control. Depending on the model of the IR receiver, the number of its capabilities and functions will vary, but by and large everything looks the same.
