When flashing the PSP, problems may arise, as a result of which the game console may simply turn into a "brick". After an unsuccessful software update or downgrade, you can always try to revive the broken console. To do this, you must first put it into recovery mode.
Necessary
- - MS Duo flash drive with a volume of at least 256 megabytes, but no more than 4 GB;
- - second working PSP with firmware version 1.5 or modification;
- - firmware file 1.50, which can be downloaded from the Internet;
- - Pandora's Battery Firmware Installer and Pandora's Battery Creator utilities
Instructions
Step 1
To convert the PSP to the recovery method, you must use a special battery, which can be made under normal conditions from a standard PSP battery, and after the recovery procedure, return it to its normal state.
Step 2
Insert the USB flash drive into a working PSP and connect the set-top box via a USB cable to the computer.
Step 3
Format the media using standard system tools (right mouse button - "Format"). It is advisable to choose FAT32 as the format. Then go to the command line ("Start" - "All programs" - "Accessories" - "Command line") and run the special formatting utility using the command mspformat.exe X, where X is the letter of the flash drive.
Step 4
Disable USB mode on your PSP and enable it again. Create a PSP / GAME150 folder on the memory card and copy the battery and installer folders to this directory. Copy the downloaded update 1.5 to the root of the flash drive (the file must be named UPDATE.pbp).
Step 5
Disable USB mode again and run the Pandora's battery firmware installer. Re-enable USB on the set-top box and copy the msipl.bin file to the root of the C drive.
Step 6
Run Command Prompt enter the command:
msinst.exe X c: /msipl.bin
X is the letter of the flash drive in the system. Disconnect USB again and launch Pandora's Battery Creator on the set-top box. To transfer the battery to the service mode, hold down the X button of the device.
Step 7
Insert the Magic Memory Stick into the box and insert the battery. Turn on the device and after the menu appears, hold down the X key. The downgrade mode will start, after which you can return the battery to normal mode. Remove the USB flash drive from the PSP, plug in the charger and turn off the console completely. Turn on the set-top box and insert the USB flash drive, and after loading, insert the battery. Launch Pandora's Battery Creator again and click . Turn off again and then turn on again. Battery mode changed.
