The presentation of the Realme 5i smartphone took place in April 2020. The device has high performance and low price, but is there a need for it and is it worth the attention of consumers?
Design
The smartphone is available in two colors: green and blue. In general, the case is bright enough not only because of the color, but also because of the texture of the back panel. Bright patterns appear in the light. The back is made of plastic, but the build quality is quite high and there is no cheap feeling.
No fingerprints or streaks remain on the lid, so you can safely wear the device without a case. The smartphone will not break if dropped from a small height, it will withstand a light blow. If you carry it in a pocket with a change or keys, then scratches will not remain.
However, the location of some of the modules may seem inconvenient for many users. Firstly, the camera, which has four lenses, lies vertically, which means that when shooting, it will be inconvenient to hold the device - fingers will get into the frame.
Secondly, the power button is traditionally located on the right side, while the volume control button is on the left. You can get used to this very quickly, however, at first it causes inconvenience.
The sound quality is clear, the speakers are made with high quality and do their job with confidence.
Camera
The camera has four lenses, and each of them fulfills a different role. The main one is responsible for colors and quality - it has 12 MP. Its main problem is the lack of saturation. All photos look very gray, the color palette is very narrow. There is also a problem with focus - many of the inscriptions on advertising banners cannot be easily disassembled, which means that "soap" is still present.
The second lens is ultra wide angle. It has 12 MP and covers 119 degrees in the image. Thanks to it, high-resolution photos can be taken, and this lens does its job well enough.
The portrait and macro cameras have 2 MP each. Here you can enlarge photos up to 5 times. And despite the simple task, he copes with it badly enough. At maximum zoom noise appears and pixels become visible.
Macro photography is good. The minimum focusing distance is 4 cm.
There is also a night mode. It is quite mediocre - there is yellowness in the photographs, if there is lamp lighting, then it is brightly reflected and creates rays. But despite this, this is a very good result for a budget phone.
