It happens that the instruction from the universal remote control is lost. In this case, you should not give in to panic. The programming procedure is the same for most inexpensive remotes of this type (not equipped with a display).

Step 1
If, along with the instructions, you have lost the code table, carefully examine the remote control. Perhaps the first time you use it, you wrote down the codes of the devices with which you use it. Look for them everywhere, including in the battery compartment, as well as on the back of its cover.
Step 2
Press simultaneously the key labeled SET and the key with the name of one of several (usually six) devices controlled by the remote control (for example, TV, VCR, DVD). The LED on the front of the remote control should light up.
Step 3
Enter the three digits of the code you have. The LED will turn off. Now experimentally determine which of your existing devices this code is intended to control. If you made a mistake with the name of the key with the name of the device, for convenience, assign this code to another key.
Step 4
In the same way, assign the rest of the codes you have to the remaining device selection keys.
Step 5
If you do not have any information left about what codes the remote control was programmed with, you will have to find them empirically. Turn on the device from the front panel, then simultaneously press the SET key and the selection key of this device on the remote control. Start pressing the Power key on the remote as many times as necessary. Sometimes it may take several hundred clicks. As soon as the next press will turn off the device, press the SET key.
Step 6
Repeat the operation as many times as necessary to configure the remote to control the rest of your devices.
Step 7
In the future, to switch the remote control to control a particular device, simply press its selection key. After replacing the batteries, the programming operation may have to be repeated. To reduce the likelihood of this, change them quickly, and when they are missing, do not press the keys. Static electricity can cause the remote control to freeze and stop responding to pressing. In this case, you will have to remove the batteries, short-circuit the springs of the battery compartment (but not the batteries themselves!), And then install them back, observing the polarity, and then repeat the programming.
