Receiving a television signal on a satellite dish has long ceased to be exotic, satellite broadcasting reaches millions of inhabitants. Nevertheless, for those who are just going to purchase, install and configure the cherished "dish", many details of this process are still unclear.
Instructions
Step 1
A receiving satellite dish installed on a balcony, wall or roof of a house is the most visible, but not the most important piece of equipment for receiving satellite channels. In order to receive satellite channels, you first need to choose and purchase a receiver - it is he who decodes the signal received by the dish.
Step 2
The choice of the receiver depends on which satellite TV operator you want to receive. The most famous operators are NTV-plus, Orion Express, Rainbow TV, Platforma HD, Tricolor TV. Each of them has its own pros and cons. The most inexpensive and affordable can be considered a package of channels from Tricolor TV.
Step 3
Many receivers are tailored to the needs of specific operators and are tuned specifically to their broadcast standard. Therefore, having chosen an operator, buy a receiver specifically for receiving its channels - this will ensure high image quality and no compatibility problems.
Step 4
Please note that a large number of channels, mainly foreign ones, are broadcasted in open encoding. This means that the simplest receiver will be enough for you to receive them. You can see the list of channels and their encodings here:
Step 5
The main problem when receiving open channels is that they are broadcast from different satellites. Having tuned the dish to one satellite, you will not be able to receive channels from the other. This problem can be partially solved by installing two antennas aimed at different satellites, or using a special antenna head with two or more converters, which allows receiving signals from several closely spaced satellites.
Step 6
Always choose a plate size with a margin. For example, if a dish with a diameter of 50-60 cm is enough to receive a signal in your area, take a dish with a diameter of 90 cm. the screen begins to break into squares, or even disappears altogether. When buying a cymbal, be sure to check that the assembly instructions are included with the cymbal.
Step 7
It is better to entrust the installation of a set of satellite equipment to a specialist, but it is quite possible to do it yourself. First of all, find on the Internet the exact data on the location of the selected satellite for your city. If someone already has similar sets of equipment, you can spy on the position of the dish - its angle of inclination and direction to the satellite.
Step 8
The antenna converter is connected to the receiver with a special cable using two F-connectors. Before screwing the connectors onto the cable, find instructions on how to install them on the Internet. When installed correctly, the center wire of the cable extends 3 mm beyond the connector cut.
Step 9
Setting up a satellite dish is quite simple, it is convenient to carry out it with an assistant, communicating with him on a mobile phone. You are at the plate, the assistant is at the switched on TV. Set the cymbal to the lowest position - so that it looks slightly into the ground. Use the compass to locate the satellite, point the saucer at it and slightly tighten the mount to prevent the saucer from turning from side to side.
Step 10
Now begin to very slowly raise the dish, your assistant at this time controls the signal level according to the tuning table on the TV screen (it is issued by the receiver). The moment the signal level and quality indicators come to life, he should inform you about it. After that, by carefully turning the dish left-right and up-down, achieve a signal level and quality of at least 80% and finally tighten the antenna mounts.
Step 11
If the satellite signal is not picked up when the dish is lifted for the first time, slightly turn the dish to the left or right and repeat the dish lifting procedure again. Practice shows that it usually takes ten minutes to set up in this way. The main thing is that you know exactly where the satellite is.
