Someone loves parachuting, someone is engaged in speleology, someone plays basketball … And if you are interested in boats and would not mind taking part in a miniature regatta, then you have an excellent opportunity to make a model of a radio-controlled boat with your own hands.

Instructions

Step 1

Start by building the hull of your future boat. It should consist of a longitudinal and a transverse sheathing set. For the construction of frames, use plywood 3-4 mm thick. In total, the thickness should be 7-8 mm, and the transom board should be approximately 5 mm. For gluing, use PVA glue or epoxy resin.

Step 2

Cut stringers from 5x5 mm pine slats, longitudinal bulkheads from 2 mm plywood, and a keel from 8 mm plywood. Assemble the frame with epoxy glue and make sure it is perfectly symmetrical. After gluing, smooth the frame with sandpaper and a file.

Step 3

Sheathe the frame with millimeter plywood. The motor frame of the radio speedboat should consist of 2 beech bars 6 mm thick. Screw the duralumin brackets to them with threaded holes for attaching the engine feet.

Step 4

Select the engine for the model. Recommended engines are TsSTKAM-2.5K or Talka-2, 5. Rotation by a gear reducer is transmitted to the propeller shaft with a gear of 0, 5. Fix the drive gear and the starting pulley on the motor shaft. Fasten the gear driven wheel in a cantilever manner on 2 bearings, which are installed in the cage. Fix it in turn on the duralumin brackets on the engine mount.

Step 5

Place a nipple behind the screw and connect it to the rubber tube with a jacket in order to ensure cooling of the engine. The duralumin pipe should be 8x1 mm in diameter. Press in plain bearings made of fluoroplastic or textolite bushings on both sides.

Step 6

In order to reduce the noise level, cover the inside of the engine compartment with microporous rubber, and equip the resonance pipe with a muffler. Make the compartment for radio equipment hermetically sealed. Put on rubber stockings (use them from fountain pens) on the steering gear traction terminals. Fasten the rubber seal compartment cover with six screws. Solder the rudder nib to the baller with any hard solder. The steering wheel should be made of brass wire 4mm in diameter.

Step 7

Solder the fuel tank from 0.3 mm tinplate. It should have a volume of approximately 100 cubic centimeters. Feed by means of pressurization from the engine boat, but the fuel can also be supplied by gravity.
