Before starting work on the sewing machine, it is necessary to correctly thread the upper and lower threads, adjust the thread tension, set the step size and the type of stitch. One of the important steps in this algorithm is to feed the shuttle.

Necessary

  • - sewing machine;
  • - bobbin;
  • - threads;
  • - bobbin case.

Instructions

Step 1

The vertical shuttle is more common, it is used in industrial and inexpensive household typewriters. To thread the shuttle on the sewing machine, you need to wind the thread around the bobbin. To do this, pass the thread through the winder, thread the thread through the hole in the bobbin, make a few turns by hand, and place the bobbin on the pin. Switch the machine to the thread winding mode and turn on the sewing machine.

Step 2

Insert the bobbin with the wound thread into the metal bobbin case so that the thread flows clockwise. Pull the thread through the slot of the cap, then pass it under the leaf spring and bring it out into the eyelet, pull out the end of the thread 10 cm long.

Step 3

If you need to tighten or loosen the bobbin thread tension, use a screwdriver to turn the screw on the bobbin case and check the thread tension. It should not run too freely, and pulling the thread too tight is not allowed, otherwise it will break during sewing.

Step 4

Insert the vertical hook into the hook with the tail up so that it fits snugly into the slot. Turn the handwheel to catch the upper thread from the hook, pull both threads towards the sewing machine foot.

Step 5

The horizontal hook is more convenient than the vertical one and differs from it in that the bobbin is inserted directly into the built-in hook. Through the transparent window, you can always see how much thread is left on the bobbin. The lower thread is pulled automatically in the horizontal hook.

Step 6

All you need to do to thread the hook on the sewing machine is open the platform cover and insert the bobbin from the top, then close the cover. The thread is wound onto the bobbin without removing the fabric from under the foot and removing the thread from the needle. During sewing, the bobbin thread will unwind, preventing tangling and making the machine quieter.
