Necessary

  • - PSP;
  • - new screen;
  • - Phillips screwdriver.

Instructions

Step 1

Determine if you really need to replace your console screen. The main signs of its malfunction may be the following: spots of various colors, incorrect display of information on the screen, the absence of any image on the display, cracks. Also, only part of the information can be reflected on the display, and most often cracks are visible on the screen, as well as the spread of liquid crystals can be traced at the moment the set-top box is turned on.

Step 2

Please note that there are three PSP modifications that have different screens. Pay attention when replacing the PSP screen yourself, that the set-top box is a rather fragile device. Firstly, this is "fatty" or PSP fat, the first model of the console. Then - PSP Slim, it is a game console of the 2000 series. And the last model, which appeared just recently, is the PSP 3000. Therefore, when purchasing a new display for replacement, check your console model. In the service center, this procedure will take about twenty minutes, and its cost depends on the model and varies from 1,500 to 2,500 rubles.

Step 3

Disassemble the attachment, for this use a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the side bolt holding the front panel. Turn the console over and take out the battery, remove the sticker, unscrew the two bolts. Then unscrew the bolts on the right, remove the front panel.

Step 4

Disconnect and remove the front button board (metal strip with ribbon cable). Then, pull out the display with a knife or screwdriver. Disconnect the display cables from the motherboard. Do this very carefully to avoid damaging the connectors.

Step 5

Lift up the upper strip of the wide ribbon cable connector, as it looks in the figure. Then lift the upper strip of the connector of the other narrower cable, which is responsible for the backlight, in the same way. Next, take a new screen, do all the operations described in the reverse order.
