The main purpose of a webcam is to transmit digital video over a network. However, it can also take photographs. However, this mode was not in great demand earlier. This was due to the low quality of the resulting images. But recently, after the successful introduction of new technologies, the clarity of the video frame has noticeably improved. And the use of a webcam has become very relevant for getting good digital photos. Taking pictures from a web-camera is very easy with the built-in tools of the operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect a webcam to your computer. Install drivers for its adequate operation. Usually the drivers are supplied from the developer along with the web-camera itself.
Step 2
Start the "My Computer" mode on your system. To do this, double-click on its shortcut on the desktop or call the mode through the "Start" button by selecting "Start" - "My Computer".
Step 3
The system will present the devices available for operation in a separate window. Below in the category "Scanners and Cameras" your webcam will be located. Launch it to work.
Step 4
A new window will appear where the video area from your shooting camera will be located. On the left side of the window there is a control panel "Camera tasks". With its help, you can take snapshots of the current moment.
Step 5
Take a photo of the image you see in the webcam window. To do this, on the control panel, click the active line "Take a new snapshot". The system will freeze the frame and place its image in the same window, below the video area.
Step 6
Save the captured snapshot using the context menu functions. Right-click the snapshot and choose Save. The webcam photo will be saved in your drawings.
