The cost of a call to a mobile phone depends on the operator and the region of the called subscriber. If you were called or sent a message and asked to call back, it is advisable to find out where the caller is and which operator he is served by.

If the caller's number starts with +7, and the second seven is absent immediately after the first, it means that it is precisely served by a Russian operator. If any other digit is located after the plus, the subscriber is outside the Russian Federation. The second seven after the first (+77) means that the number is registered in Kazakhstan. Any call abroad will be quite expensive. Moreover, it will be paid even on most unlimited tariffs.

By a few digits after the seven, you can determine the Russian mobile operator, or the city where the landline telephone is located. A three-digit code starting with the number 9 indicates that the phone is a cell phone, and a code containing three to five digits, the first of which is not a nine, indicates that the phone is stationary. Step 3
If it turns out that the phone is a mobile one, by the three-digit code you can only find out the name of the operator and sometimes the region, but not the city. To determine the latter, you will have to use the first digits of the number itself, located immediately after the code. To do this, enter the entire number (together with a plus and a seven) in the form located on the following website: https://www.prosota.ru/ Write the number together, do not use spaces and hyphens. Please note that some unlimited tariffs are valid only within the home region (or even only one operator), while others apply to the entire territory of the Russian Federation.
Step 4
If you unsuccessfully search for an operator by code on both sites, call the support service of your mobile operator: MTS - 0890, Beeline - 0611, Megafon - 0500. In the home region, this call is free. Follow the voice prompts to connect with a consultant. Tell him the number from which you were called, and he will tell you both the region and the name of the operator.
Step 5
While on the street, if your cell phone does not support the Internet, you can find out the operator using a payment machine. Find a machine that has a function to automatically identify the payee by number. Enter the number, click the "Continue" button or similar, but do not deposit funds. After reading the information about the operator and the region, click the "Cancel" button.
Step 6
If you receive an SMS message or a call from an unknown number with a request to replenish your account, do not do this without making sure that it was not a fraudster. Do not call back or send messages to numbers that are three or four digits long. Report all cases of fraud to the support service of your operator.
