Canon is a manufacturer of some of the most popular and quality cameras today. To take good pictures with the camera, you need to pre-configure its parameters through the options menu and using the switches located on the body.
Instructions
Step 1
Before shooting with the camera, you will need to configure some options. Turn on the camera by sliding the power lever on the top of the camera to the On position. Remove the lens cap and start adjusting the settings.
Step 2
First select a shooting mode. Among the suggested options, use the appropriate wheel, usually located on the left side of the top panel of the camera switches. If you want to take a quick shot, set the switch to Auto. If you want to use manual override, slide the switch to P. For more balanced shots, use Av (Aperture Priority) or Tv (Shutter Priority).
Step 3
Move the aperture priority slider using the button on the front of the device. If you are photographing in a dark room, set the minimum value available, which will vary depending on the lens used. The more light, the higher this value will be.
Step 4
Use Tv mode when shooting moving subjects or want the maximum depth of field. If you are shooting without a tripod, adjust the Tv setting to 1/60. If you are shooting a fast moving subject, set it to 1/100 or 1/200. The higher the value, the faster the subject you are shooting should move.
Step 5
If you are shooting in the dark, focus on the lightest point in the desired area of focus. To make blacks appear more saturated in the dark, turn the exposure wheel on the right side of the camera. The lower the exposure, the darker the color.
Step 6
After selecting a shooting mode and adjusting the sensitivity and exposure, aim the lens at the desired subject and press the shutter release button to focus. After focusing, press the button all the way down. Snapshot creation is complete.
