Let's say you decided to try yourself in the field of a video operator. You got a good camera, chose what you will shoot. But where do you start? What are the best mistakes to avoid? What subtleties do you need to know to get a decent picture?
Instructions
Step 1
Compare the camera to the normal human gaze. Always use this analogy when shooting. Remember that panoramas, sharp jumps in the image are not typical for the human eye. The picture should be static and stable, like the human eye. If your hands are shaking when holding the camera, use a tripod or place the camera on a hard surface.
Step 2
Get a tripod in any case, it will definitely come in handy. Spend at least $ 100 on a good tripod - they are lightweight and compact, you can take them with you on any trip.
Step 3
Use your zoom wisely. There are two types of zoom in video cameras - optical and digital. In terms of image quality, optical is far superior to digital. Use the zoom only if you have a tripod, so that the picture does not shake when zooming in, and yet do not accentuate those details that do not carry any semantic load with the help of "zooming in".
Step 4
If your camcorder does not have a backlight, then make it yourself from a regular flashlight by attaching a white plastic circle to it, which will act as a light diffuser.
Step 5
Add all special effects only to the finished video. The fact is that you cannot remove the effect added directly during shooting if you do not like it in the final version. Decide whether you need this or that special effect already at home on your computer.
Step 6
Don't mix daylight and artificial light. This will create an artificial effect and can lead to severe color distortion.
Step 7
Keep powered mobile phones away from the camera. Better yet, just turn them off while shooting.
Step 8
If you want to provide your video with a commentary, do it during the editing process, and not during the shooting.
Step 9
If you are shooting in extreme cold, wrap a scarf around your hands and camera to make it easier for you to control it, and your hands will be less cold.
Step 10
If you are shooting against the light, turn on the backlight or use a flashlight - you get extinguishing oncoming light.
Step 11
If you are shooting in a place where there are lasers, wear glasses and darkening protective glass on the camera so as not to spoil your eyes and lens.
Step 12
If you are shooting close-ups, drive the camera smoothly, do not jump from one shot to another.
