Apple has demanded to ban the sale of Galaxy tablet computers manufactured by the Korean concern Samsung in the United States. For his lawsuit, the American electronics giant indicated the reason: the violation by Koreans of patents for the Siri assistant system, as well as some functions of electronic devices.
Electronic companies are no strangers to the legal battles they are constantly waging for first place in the multimillion dollar market. Apple is the undisputed leader in the United States, but on the world stage they have a very dangerous rival - the South Korean company Samsung. Recently, these competitors have clashed over the sale of smartphones and tablet computers, which have become wildly popular among users and bring in billions of dollars in profits that are worth fighting for.
In early summer 2012, another battle broke out between the two world giants of the electronics industry. It was caused by the release of new models of Galaxy S3 tablet computers by Samsung to the American market. The sales have not yet started, and they have already received an injunction.
Earlier, Galaxy tablets arrived in UK stores. Apple specialists carefully studied the new product and came to the conclusion that several patents belonging to the American company were infringed by the Korean developers. There are at least two such patents. This is the voice recognition technology of the Siri system, which uses a unique search algorithm, which is called S-Voice in the Korean version. As well as the function of detecting and decrypting personal data: phone numbers, email addresses, etc.
Apple's lawyers have filed a lawsuit in a California court to ban the sale of new Samsung computers in the United States. After examining the application and the attached facts, the judge issued a preliminary injunction. It was officially announced that patent infringements have a demonstrable factual basis and entail large financial losses for Apple.
It soon became known that the Americans did not stop at one model and called on the court to impose a ban on the distribution of another electronic novelty - Galaxy Tab 10.1. In their opinion, this model is completely identical to the iPad. Then their attention shifted to the Galaxy Nexus smartphone. In the latter case, the matter was somewhat complicated, since the second company, Google, became involved. In fact, Apple has filed a lawsuit against Google's search technology! The court ruled more cautiously, ordering Apple to deposit $ 95 million in a special deposit. If the dispute is resolved in favor of Samsung and the ban is lifted, this money will be transferred to their account.
