There are a lot of companies in China that produce inexpensive smartphones with the highest possible performance. But if from the whole mass to single out unknown companies, even the names of which are difficult to read and pronounce, there will remain a maximum of a dozen C-category manufacturers, whose products can be more or less trusted. Moreover, out of these ten, Russian users have heard a maximum of one or two. Doogee is one of those who are not very well known in the post-Soviet space, but it is this company that tries to offer customers really high-quality products. The company is small, and therefore most devices cannot shine with perfect software optimization and super-powerful filling, but their price is not so high either. Dodge Shoot 1 (or as it is also called Dudji Shot 1) is a very good choice for those who want to buy a budget smartphone with an attractive design.

The package contains (in addition to the phone itself) a 2A charger with a USB cable, an instruction manual, a screen protector, a silicone case, a cloth for cleaning the display and a clip for opening the SIM tray.

Design and controls

HTC, Huawei, and now Doogee have similar designs. Outwardly, Shoot 1 is no different from most of its Chinese counterparts. The plastic case has light inserts for the antennas, which are completely useless (unlike when the phone has a metal case). You can buy Googee Shoot 1 in the following colors: gray, gold, black.

The front side of the phone is classic - 2, 5D glass with a protective film already glued on. The silicone case, although it has special caps for the charging connectors and headphones, does not guarantee moisture protection at all. By the way, because of the same cover, the cable of third-party chargers may not reach the socket or be held loosely in it.

The power button and the combined SIM-card slot are located on the left side surface of the device. It is possible to install either two SIM cards at the same time, or a combination of SIM card + memory card.

The fingerprint sensor is located on the front panel. This is a complete physical button. The sensor responds well, and the number of false positives is close to zero. On the sides are two touch-sensitive keys, the purpose of which changes depending on the settings.

On the left side there is a double volume up / down button. At the bottom there is a speaker, and one of the grilles has a purely decorative function. But there are two microphones in Googee Shoot 1: near the main camera and at the bottom.

The device weighs 167 g. For a smartphone with a diagonal of 5.5 inches, the Googee Shoot 1 is compact, fits comfortably in the hand. The picture on the screen is bright, the colors are saturated, contrasting. There is a possibility of manual and automatic adjustment. In sunlight, the information is readable from the display well.

Battery

The built-in lithium-ion battery is responsible for powering the smartphone. Its capacity is 3300 mAh, which is quite enough for active use during the day. The phone comes with a 2 ampere charger, which is rare for budget models.

The downside of Googee Shoot 1 is that the software is not optimized, so various preinstalled applications make the battery drain prematurely.

Hardware and communication capabilities

The quad-core MediaTek 6737T processor isn't all that unique to the budget. Each core is 1.5 GHz, there is a graphics accelerator. The Googee Shoot has 1 as much as 2 GB of RAM, which is quite decent.

The built-in memory is 16 GB, of which about 6 GB is occupied by the system and the pre-installed software. There is support for microSD memory cards with a capacity of up to 256 GB. The smartphone is quite capable of resource-intensive games, although on more expensive models they work an order of magnitude faster.

Googee Shoot 1 has support for five LTE bands. There is no frequency aggregation. 3G is extremely stable, but the speeds are poor. Communication capabilities are also provided by Bluetooth 4.0 and standard Wi-Fi. It is possible to connect peripheral devices via OTG. GPS navigation works perfect.

Cameras

The front camera with its 8 megapixels produces good pictures. Some parameters during shooting can be adjusted manually.

The rear camera of the Googee Shoot 1 is dual. The main one has 13 megapixels, the second one has 8 megapixels. It is thanks to the second rear camera, according to the manufacturer, that the blur effect or illusion of shooting with a widescreen is obtained. However, numerous customer tests show that both with the second camera open and with the finger closed, the photos are approximately the same. In general, the level of shooting for a budget employee is more than decent.

FullHD with 30 frames per second gives quite passable video quality. Basically, the second camera on Googee Shoot 1 is more of a marketing ploy than a full-blown innovation.

Other characteristics

Googee Shoot 1 runs Android 6.0. There is a gesture control function. If necessary, you can activate the ability to automatically receive a call when you approach the device to your ear. A very useful function for creating long screenshots and creating notes on them, alas, in English. The music player is classic, it cannot boast of anything special. The radio works only in tandem with headphones, which act as an antenna. There is a compass and a simple file manager.

Feedback after two weeks of operation is inconsistent. On the one hand, the phone periodically tries to install some games on its own, which is annoying. The quality of communication and sound is not up to par, but the language does not turn out to be bad either. Thus, the Googee Shoot 1 is a standard Chinese device in the budget price range. The manufacturer promises a lot, but the implementation of the promised is rather disappointing. On the other hand, for 10 thousand rubles, the buyer gets a stably working Chinese phone in Russian with good characteristics and satisfactory picture quality.
