The invention of the accumulator battery (storage battery) made it possible to rapidly develop the automotive industry. Manufacturers try to make them more resilient, but they sometimes run out of power. In this case, it is not possible to use the car. Chargers came to the aid of motorists. They help revitalize the battery by restoring its lost charge.

Instructions

Step 1

Read carefully the instructions for the selected charger and starter. Be careful when purchasing cheap imitation brands. Their technical characteristics do not stand up to scrutiny. In the instructions, pay attention to the points on the compliance of the device with the level of electrical and fire safety, operating rules, manufacturer's details (special attention). Don't buy handicrafts. The charger must ensure normal charging from start to finish. Thus, the ZPU must maintain and automatically change the values of current and voltage, depending on the stage of charging.

Step 2

Pay attention to the thickness of the device wires. Charging-starting, in contrast to charging-prestarting, operate in two modes - charge and maximum current output during starting mode. Their installation takes place with a special toggle switch. Unlike ZPP models, charging and starting devices have a much larger wire cross-section, respectively, and their cost is higher. ZPU can be used for batteries of foreign and domestic car models, but they should be used only when the on-board network is turned off, if it is present. Otherwise, the charging process is the same. Be careful, there is a real possibility of damaging the electronics when connecting the device with the battery terminals not removed.

Step 3

Take a charger and starter with a current reserve. Thus, it will not work to the limit of its capabilities. Otherwise, it will be possible to charge a battery with a larger capacity.

Step 4

Choose an automatic charger / starter that provides a combined charge. It has a small number of controls, usually one potentiometer, with which you can set the initial charge current. Its value can be indicated by a device or LEDs. The first is more accurate, therefore preferable, the second is less accurate, but cheaper in cost.
