Locking the phone keypad is a security measure to prevent unwanted button presses that could lead to calls or changes to some phone settings. It is better to carry the phone in your pocket with the keypad locked, since the keypad of the phone in your pocket (especially in your trouser pocket) is very often accidentally pressed. There are several ways to unlock the keypad, depending on the phone model and the type of keypad (physical or on-screen).
Instructions
Step 1
For phones with a physical keypad, unlocking is usually performed by an action similar to turning it on. It is carried out by pressing certain keys in a special order, or by pressing and holding one of them. These can be the keys *, #, and the "Menu" key. Consecutive pressing of two or more keys most reliably protects the keyboard from unwanted unlocking.
Step 2
Touchscreen phones do not have a physical keyboard as such. Its role is played by the screen. If the phone still has several buttons (making and rejecting a call), then they are blocked together with the screen. To unlock such phones, most often you need to press and hold a certain part of the screen that looks like a button (most often with a lock icon). This method allows you to protect your phone from unwanted unlocking quite well.
Step 3
Some touchscreen phone models have a more serious way to disable the keypad lock. It consists in the fact that it is necessary to "draw" a polyline of a certain shape on the screen. This method has the greatest reliability, since it is guaranteed to exclude unwanted clicks.
