Step 1
Before installing the antenna, you need to find out the exact coordinates of the satellite, they can be found on the Internet. In the event that you are setting up a set of equipment for receiving a signal from Tricolor TV, one of the leading satellite television operators, the antenna must be oriented exactly to the south during installation.
Step 2
Fix the antenna, connect the converter and the receiver with a cable with F-connectors. Connect the receiver and TV with the supplied cables. Switch the TV to receive the signal from the receiver. Press the red button on the receiver's remote control (an option for Tricolor TV is being considered). A window with two scales should appear on the screen - the signal level and its quality. Until the antenna is pointed at the satellite, the scales will be blank. If the window does not appear and the screen is blank, check that all cables are properly connected.
Step 3
If the window appears, proceed with tuning the antenna. In the event that you cannot simultaneously tune the antenna and see the TV screen, you will need an assistant. You can communicate with him by cell phone. You will tune the antenna, the assistant will observe the scales of signal strength and quality.
Step 4
To tune to Tricolor TV, you need to orient the antenna to a point located six degrees to the left of the south - if you are facing it. But in order to catch the satellite, first rotate the antenna about three degrees to the left of the south direction. Lower the plate down, then slowly start lifting it up. If a signal appears, the helper must report it immediately.
Step 5
If it was not possible to catch the satellite signal, lower the dish again, turn it one more degree to the left and start slowly raising it again, and so on several times. Experience shows that it usually takes no more than ten minutes to capture a satellite.
Step 6
Once the signal appears, lightly tighten the antenna mounts. Now your task is to carefully tune the antenna to achieve a signal level of at least 80%. When the desired signal strength and quality is obtained, finally secure the antenna.
