When connecting television or the Internet, you can notice that a special device is always installed at the end of the cable - a connector, each type of which is used for a specific type of cable.
BNC connector
One of the most popular and demanded types of connectors is the BNC connector. It is used in various video and audio equipment, where transmission is carried out via an RF cable. This connector has its own limits for frequency and voltage, which is 3 GHz and cannot exceed 500 watts, respectively.
This type of connector is mainly used in: analog and digital video interfaces for signal transmission, in aviation electronics, test equipment, as well as radio equipment (antennas, radio transmitters, etc.). Basically, this type of connector is used for installation in commercial and industrial equipment. Used to build 10BASE2 Ethernet networks. The BNC connector has several analogs that surpass it in certain properties, these are the TNC connector and the BNC-T.
TNC and BNC-T-connector
The TNC connector, unlike the BNC, is used for stable operation at higher frequencies. Used in the same areas. The BNC-T connector, in turn, is designed to connect three cables, mainly with coaxial RF connectors. Very often it is done so that two cables are connected to this connector, and a terminator is connected to the remaining input. In the 10BASE2 standard, this kind of connector is used to connect a coaxial cable to a network card installed on a personal computer.
RJ-45 connector
The RJ-45 connector is the most commonly used today. It is usually used when using a twisted pair cable. For example, it is used during the installation of cable television or the Internet. Mostly a six-seat connector is used, that is, a combination of multiple wires (white / green, white / orange, blue / white, white / blue, orange / white, green / white) is used. With regard to television, in this case, a four-seater wiring (white / orange, orange, green, white / green) will be used.
RCA connector
Another kind of connectors is RCA ("tulip"). This type of connector used to be ubiquitous, although today it is practically out of fashion. This standard is widely used in audio and video technology. The standard plug is a center metal connector that protrudes slightly forward and has a diameter of 3.2 millimeters. The RCA jack is a conventional panel-mount connector and is available in diameters up to 8.0 millimeters.
