The reasons for the problem of sending messages can be: incorrectly configured SMS parameters; problems on the part of the telecom operator; SIM card defects; phone malfunction.
Reboot your phone
Turning your phone off and back on is the first thing to do if no messages are sent. The network may experience short-term failures that can cause problems such as the inability to send SMS. In this case, a simple reboot of the cell phone solves the problem.
Problems from the other party
If SMS is not sent from your phone to a specific subscriber, try to find out if there are any restrictions on receiving messages from his side. Perhaps your number is included in the recipient's "Black List". There is a possibility that the recipient subscriber has a faulty SIM card or the message transfer service is disabled.
SMS center number
In most cases, problems with sending SMS arise due to an incorrectly registered SMS center number. Through the phone menu in the SMS parameters, find the "Service Center" tab, enter the correct SMS center number and save the changes.
The number of the SMS center for each operator is different:
- Beeline +7 903 701 1111
- Megaphone +7 928 990 0028
- MTS +7 916 899 9100 or +7 916 896 0220
- Tele2 +7 950 809 0000
Data channel
In the phone menu, in the SMS parameters, find the “Channel for SMS” tab and select “GSM”. Some phone models offer “CS” and “PS” as options. In this case, mark “CS”.
Black list
The message may not be sent because the number of another subscriber is included in the "Black List" of your phone. Check through the menu if this function is activated. If enabled, disable it.
Among the services of telecom operators there is also a "Black List". If you have any problems with sending messages, you should clarify the information about connecting this service on your number.
SMS transfer service
Check SMS service connection on your number. You can check this information with the operator of your cellular company, through the self-service service or on the official website.
Unified reference service of mobile operators:
Beeline: 0611
Megaphone: 0500
MTS: 0890

Megaphone: * 105 #

SMS memory
Check the status of the SMS memory. An overflowing SMS memory can prevent messages from being sent. In this case, delete unnecessary messages from your device.
Delivery period
Check that the maximum message delivery period is set in the SMS parameters on your phone. If the delivery period is set, for example, to 1 hour, and the addressee is out of range or disconnected within an hour after you sent the message, your message will not be accepted.
SIM card malfunction
If none of the recommendations solved the problem of sending messages, it may be that the SIM card is faulty. To replace it, contact the communication salon of your operator, where you will be given a duplicate.
When replacing a SIM card, a duplicate of it is issued. The number, balance, tariff plan and connected services remain unchanged. It is recommended to transfer all contacts and messages saved on the original SIM card to the phone memory.
Replacement of a SIM card is made only in the presence of its owner and with a passport.
