The 3G modem, which is connected to the USB port of the computer, provides high speed data transfer only when the signal is confidently received. Since it moves in space with the laptop, this condition is not always met.

Step 1
Find out which operator's signal is best received at the location of the modem. Try to do this, for example, one by one, install SIM cards of different operators in the same phone located in the same place. Observe the signal level indicator, try to access the Internet from your phone when each of the cards is installed in it. Stop your choice on the appropriate operator.
Step 2
Remember that cards intended for phones may not work in the modem, and vice versa. Also remember that many modems only work with cards from certain operators. Then, to change the operator, you will have to change the modem as well. The cost of the cheapest unlimited tariff today is almost the same for all operators within the same region.
Step 3
If a change of operator is not part of your plans, try moving your laptop or netbook along with the modem. Sometimes a displacement of only half a meter gives tangible results. In places of the room where the signal of one operator is poorly received, the signal of another operator may be well received, and vice versa.
Step 4
If desired, use a phone instead of a modem, which will access the Internet via GPRS or 3G, and then transfer information to a computer via Bluetooth. Place it in a place with good reception and the laptop up to three meters away. Unlimited tariffs intended for phones, not modems, are much more profitable, but they provide for a strong decrease in speed after reaching a certain threshold of the amount of received and transmitted data.
Step 5
Purchase a dedicated USB extension cable for your modem. Place it in a place with good reception and the computer will be connected with a cable. If desired, place the modem in the focus of the parabolic reflector and point it towards the base station. Unlike a satellite dish, this structure (called WokFi) should be placed indoors.
Step 6
If you want several devices (up to five) to access the Internet from one modem, purchase a special pocket router. Also place it in a place with good reception, and connect the machines to it via WiFi. Do not forget that the router has a battery that needs to be recharged periodically.
