Almost all modern smartphones are equipped with an oleophobic coating. It not only protects the device from dust and dirt, but also makes the touchscreen a little slippery. This is very important for the comfortable use of a smartphone. The thickness and quality of the protective layer differs from model to model, but on average, it is ready to serve faithfully for a little over a year.
To determine the wear of the oleophobic coating and the need to apply a new one, only tactile sensations are not enough. A drop of water, carefully applied with a pipette on the screen, will serve as an indicator of the presence or absence of this protective layer. If the drop gathers around itself and has an almost spherical regular shape, then everything is in order with the protective layer. A drop that spreads out and takes the pattern formula indicates the deterioration of the screen surface.
If you are not a fan of using films and protective glasses, a set for covering the screen with an oleophobic coating is waiting for you in any hardware store. It consists of a tube with a polymer composition and a soft cloth, which is used to evenly distribute the composition over the screen of the gadget. Before application, the display must be cleaned of dirt and oil stains. The whole process will take no more than 5 minutes.
Keep in mind that even the most expensive formulations will not be able to match the coating applied at the factory. Its wear resistance will also be small. This insignificant drawback can correct the volume of the tube, which can share the oleophobic composition more than once.
