Restoring the factory (standard) settings of a Nokia mobile device of different models may differ in insignificant details, but it follows the same algorithm of actions: the restoration is performed by means of the system and does not require the use of additional applications.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the main menu of the device and go to the "Settings" item to perform the operation of restoring the default (factory) settings of your phone.
Step 2
Select the "Restore factory settings" section. Possible names:
- "Reset device settings";
- "Restore factory settings";
- "Restore default settings."
Step 3
Select the "Restore settings only" item to return to the standard characteristics of the phone while preserving the existing personal data, messages and media files (a possible option for the command: "Settings only").
Step 4
Use the Restore All command to completely erase all information stored on the device and restore it to factory defaults.
Step 5
Specify the device lock code before performing the restore operation. Specify the default code 12345 if it has not been changed, and enter your value if the lock code has been changed.
Step 6
Failure to enter the correct code will result in the need to contact Nokia Care.
Step 7
Use the introduction of a special code * # 7780 # to implement an alternative method of restoring the default settings of a mobile device, or enter the value * # 7370 # to completely clear all data and delete multimedia files with restoring the phone's factory settings.
Step 8
Be sure to remove the memory card before performing the restore operation, as otherwise all information will be erased and the card itself will be locked.
