Satellite TV is the ability to watch hundreds of channels in many languages. To get access to the world's digital television broadcasting, you need to purchase the necessary equipment and set it up correctly.
Instructions
Step 1
You will need an antenna that receives a signal from the satellite, a receiver, an antenna mount, converters, a switch and a cable. Find out in the range of which satellites your home is located. The site www.lyngsat.com will help you with this. There you can also get accurate information about which channels depend on each of the satellites.
Step 2
Place the antenna on the south side of the house and make sure nothing is blocking it. Decide on its direction. The most basic way is to look at the neighbors' antennas. If you have nothing to compare with, the direction can be determined by azimuth using the special program Satellite Antenna Alignment. Once you know the direction, attach the antenna securely to the mount.
Step 3
Connect the receiver and TV and start setting up. In this case, it is better to make sure that the receiver is near the antenna, then you can immediately see the results of your work. Connect the converter to the receiver and display the satellite signal strength indicator on the TV screen. Then slightly loosen the mount on the antenna and begin to gently rotate the antenna left and right, observing the signal strength. After determining the best position for the antenna, secure it permanently. Be very careful, as an antenna offset of just a couple of millimeters can lead to the search having to start over.
Step 4
Adjust the position of the converters. Usually, the central converter receives the signal of the closest satellite, and the side ones - the rest. After finishing the setup, connect the DiSEqC switch and lay the cable.
Step 5
Tune the channels on your TV. You can start the automatic mode, then you will have hundreds of satellite channels from all over the world at your disposal, or you can, using manual tuning, select only a few that you really want to watch. This completes the installation of satellite equipment. Happy viewing.
