Routers or routers are usually used to build a local area network with Internet access. If it is necessary to include mobile computers in this network, then it is better to use equipment with the ability to create a Wi-Fi access point.
Instructions
Step 1
Select a Wi-Fi router and place this equipment close to a power outlet. Connect the device to the mains and turn it on. Connect all stationary computers to the LAN ports of the Wi-Fi router. With a single WAN (DSL) link, connect the internet connection cable.
Step 2
Now turn on one of the computers connected to the Wi-Fi router. Enter the router's IP into the address bar of the Internet browser. After entering the web interface of its settings, open the WAN (Internet Settings) menu. Configure the connection of this network equipment to the provider's server. Save the set parameters.
Step 3
Now create your own wireless network by opening the Wi-Fi (Wireless Setup) menu. Go to the LAN menu and perform detailed configuration of the local network operation. Disable the Firewall feature to avoid problems creating network shares. Be sure to enable NAT function.
Step 4
If you plan to use shared network folders, then turn off the automatic DHCP IP addressing program. This will make it difficult to set up the network, but will make the process of creating network folders easier. Save all Wi-Fi router settings and reboot it. After establishing connection with the provider's server, find out the internal IP address of the router. It usually does not change.
Step 5
Now open the network connection settings on one of the PCs. Navigate to TCP / IP options. Check the box next to Use the following IP address. Set the static IP value. Enter the IP address of the router in the “DNS Server” and “Default Gateway” fields.
Step 6
Configure other computers and laptops in the same way. To open another PC that is part of the network, press the Win + R keys and enter the line / 111.111.111.5 in the field that opens. In this case, the numbers represent the IP address of the target computer.
