Instructions

Step 1

Purchase a set of equipment for receiving satellite TV. It includes an antenna and its fastening elements, a converter (antenna head), a receiver and a cable. Assemble the antenna according to the instructions supplied with it, install the converter.

Step 2

Choose a location to install the antenna. When choosing it, take into account the location of the satellite to which you will direct the satellite dish. For example, if you install equipment for receiving Tricolor TV and live in the European part of Russia, the antenna will point almost exactly to the south. Remember that the antenna should not be obstructed by houses, trees, or other objects.

Step 3

Fasten the antenna base firmly with the bolts. Prepare the cable, screw the F-connectors onto its ends, find instructions on how to install them correctly on the Internet. Connect one end of the cable to the converter, additionally secure the cable with electrical tape in two or three places so that it is not swayed by the wind. Connect the second F-connector to the receiver. Connect the TV and receiver with the supplied cord.

Step 4

The next step is to tune the antenna to the satellite. You need to know exactly its coordinates, they can be found on the Internet. If you are tuning Tricolor TV, point the antenna exactly to the south, lower the dish itself down. Please note that if you live in the northern part of the European part of Russia, then a correctly installed dish may even look a little into the ground. This is the design of offset plates - their apparent direction does not coincide with the real one.

Step 5

Turn on the TV and the receiver, switch the TV to receive a signal from the receiver. Press the red button on the remote control (for Tricolor TV). A setup table with marks of signal level and quality will appear on the screen. Since the antenna is not pointed at the satellite, the signals are zero. For further tuning to "Tricolor TV" (it is taken as an example) you will need an assistant. You will tune the antenna, the assistant will tell you if there is a signal. If the antenna is far from the TV, you can communicate with the assistant using your cell phone.

Step 6

Slightly, a couple of degrees, turn the antenna to the east - that is, slightly to the left of the south (when looking south). Tighten the mount slightly, then start slowly lifting the cymbal. If it is fully raised, but the signal could not be received, lower it again and turn the antenna another degree to the left, then repeat the procedure. Look for a signal just to the left of the south (it should be 6 degrees from it), and you will definitely find it. It usually takes a few minutes to search for a signal.

Step 7

Once the satellite signal appears, tighten the antenna mount slightly. Now you need to achieve the maximum signal level by slightly turning the dish left-right and up-down from the found position. When the signal strength and quality levels are approximately 80%, tighten all fasteners. The 80% level is quite sufficient, even the master cymbal setters rarely achieve the best results.
