In recent months, there have been rumors that the social network Facebook, together with the NTS company, is developing its own smartphone, which should go on sale in early 2013. However, Mark Zuckerberg himself, the founder and CEO of Facebook, denies this fact, arguing that releasing a whole phone does not make sense to them.

In 2011, a similar phone was released. HTC ChaCha is an Android smartphone that differs from its brothers in the presence of an extra button to launch the Facebook application. The participation of a social network in the creation of the device would make sense if it was possible to remake Android for yourself without any problems, as, for example, the Kindle Fire tablet was adapted for Amazon.com.

However, last summer Google stopped the out-of-control modification of the system. Now it is required in advance, before implementation, to coordinate the ideas of the developers. This anti-fragmentation measure is convenient for the user, since he does not get a tainted rework, but in fact a quality Android platform. But for Facebook, this puts an end to the idea, because such an agreement will reveal all the cards for the competitor - the creators of Android and their social network Google+.

The Facebook network is going to come to grips with the integration of its resource with the systems of mobile devices, especially with iOS 6. And really, why bother with the hardware when every smartphone already has an application for this social network. The main thing is to make it reliable and convenient. According to all the same Facebook employees, it makes no sense to build the idea of a smartphone around a single application if the user can purchase any other device with the program already installed.

Based on the above, we can conclude that if a smartphone of this type comes out, it will be exclusively an initiative of HTC, the successor of HTC Cha Cha, but not the work of Facebook. It is doubtful that such a smartphone will be more successful than its ancestor. The only thing that can affect the popularity is the title of HTC's flagship and, besides, the corresponding filling. But in this case, the purchase of a new product will not be due to an extra button and not due to the presence of the name of the social network Facebook in its definition.

As for the detailed internal structure of the new smartphone, it is not yet known what it will be like, if, of course, the phone is ever born.
