The situation when you need to reset the cartridges on the printer is quite common. This can be done in several ways.

Instructions

Step 1

The printer cartridges have a chip, which records information about its resource and the number of pages already printed. When the cartridge displays a message about the need to replace it, it is not at all necessary that it is really empty, it is just that the chip has counted the required number of pages. And only a few lines could be printed on the pages. That is, the level of ink in the cartridge is calculated programmatically, and there is no information about the real state of affairs. There are several ways to solve this problem. In laser printers, it is possible to simply replace the chip on the cartridge. There are chips on the market for a large number of laser printers, and there are also universal chips that fit a variety of printer models. In inkjet printers, this chip is fundamentally different and simply cannot be replaced. In this case, you can zero the chips of the cartridges. The simplest solution is to perform zeroing using special programmers or reprogrammers. They are commercially available or you can make them yourself. To reset the chips yourself, remove the cartridges from the printer.

Step 2

In the printer service menu, press the Cancel button and hold down the OK button. Release the buttons after a while.

Step 3

Select Resets Menu from the menu and then click OK.

Step 4

Select Partial Reset and then click OK again. Then the printer turns off.

Step 5

Turn on the printer, select the region and language - Europe.

Step 6

Then follow the instructions that the printer prompts you. Check the ink level. If it does not become 100%, then repeat all operations again, but instead of Partial Reset, select Semi Full Reset. In some cases, after that it is necessary to repeat all the steps once again, but this time with a Partial Reset.

Step 7

Also try pressing the "Reset / Stop" button on the printer itself for about 10 seconds. After that, the ink level in the cartridge will no longer be monitored by the printer. For each color, you need to carry out the operation separately. Now you need to visually monitor the ink level yourself.
