The so-called IP-telephony, which is a fairly economical and technically convenient form of telephone communication, is becoming more and more widespread.

Step 1
A significant number of companies now provide IP telephony. The most important thing in setting up an IP connection in your office or home is finding a reliable and inexpensive service provider. To connect this type of telephone communication through a provider, fill out an application on the website of the company of your choice or by calling by phone, a specialist will select a convenient communication tariff for you, and then the master will come and connect the connection, and also tell you how to use the IP telephony program.
Step 2
It is equally easy to connect a phone number through one of the standard programs, for example, X-Lite, made specifically for the Windows operating system. First of all, get a PIN code from your provider, that is, buy a phone number. Download the communication program from one of the sites of the companies providing telephone communication, install it. Run the program, in the window that opens, type * 611 and set the required settings. Enter your username and service access code in the appropriate fields. Disable G711u, G711a and GSM codecs. Restart the program and then you can make calls.
Step 3
If you are on a local network (connected through a proxy server) or work through an ADSL modem, the program configurations will be slightly different: in addition to the login, you will need to dial your SIP number, domain and a special SIP proxy. Usually, this data is given to you along with instructions for setting up the program. Dial * 311 to check the settings. Restart the program. If you set it up correctly, you can make calls.
Step 4
To start a conversation, dial the subscriber's phone number, then press "Dial". At the end of the conversation, press the "Hand Up" button. Keep in mind that you will have to pay not only for the PIN code to access the system, but also for any calls to landline and mobile phones. But you can call any SIP number for free.
