If you prefer to watch movies in good quality on the big screen, but you are intimidated by the purchase of an expensive Blue-Ray player, use a desktop computer or laptop instead. To ensure high-quality operation of such a tandem, it is necessary to correctly connect and configure both devices.
It is necessary
video signal transmission cable
Instructions
Step 1
Start by choosing the channel through which the computer and TV will be connected. Most often, this choice is determined by the presence of a free connector on the video card. Sometimes it is wiser to reconnect the monitor to a different port in order to connect the video adapter to the TV via a digital link.
Step 2
Purchase a cable with the correct ports. Most often, you can find two types of connections: DVI-HDMI and DHMI-HDMI. Connect the TV to the video adapter of your computer or laptop. Turn on your PC and wait for the operating system to load.
Step 3
Now turn on your TV and open the settings menu of this device. Find the item "Priority signal source". Select the port that is currently connected to your computer.
Step 4
Now all you have to do is choose the parameters of the video adapter. First, open the device settings menu. Usually the ATI Control Center and Nvidia Control Panel programs are responsible for the necessary parameters. Find the item "Control multiple displays" and enable the "Multi-display performance mode" option.
Step 5
Open the Display Properties or External Display Connection menu. Highlight the icon for your monitor or TV and select the Make this display the primary option. It is better to use a monitor as the main screen, because it is on it that all applications will be launched.
Step 6
Now select the second icon and activate the "Extend to this screen" function. It is important to understand that transferring a different image to two displays puts a heavy load on the video adapter. If you are dealing with a relatively weak device, it is better to select the "Duplicate" operating mode. In this case, an identical picture will be displayed on both screens.
