Inkjet printers have a fairly low price, but at the same time they provide high-quality color printing. For all its advantages, such printers sometimes cause a lot of trouble to the owners, refusing to work. You can take the capricious printer to a service workshop, or you can try to repair it yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
If the printer does not turn on at all, use a tester or probe to check the presence of voltage in the outlet. In the event that the printer has its own power supply, check its output voltage, usually +12 V. If there is no output voltage, disassemble the power supply and check all the main circuits with a tester, first of all the fuse (if any).
Step 2
The printer turns on but does not print. In this case, pay attention to whether the printer head moves after turning it on - it should make several movements, accompanied by a characteristic sound. If it doesn't, then the head motor or control circuit is most likely damaged.
Step 3
Gently slide the head to check if it has become stuck. Check the printer again. If the head still does not move, take the printer to a service center, you cannot cope with this malfunction yourself without the appropriate skills and knowledge.
Step 4
The printer wrinkles the paper. Wipe all idlers and pinch rollers with a clean cotton cloth dampened with alcohol or vodka. Check if one of the rollers is jammed.
Step 5
One of the most common inkjet printer malfunctions is printhead drying. This usually happens if the printer has not been used for some time. If the printer's downtime is relatively short, immerse the printhead nozzles in alcohol or vodka poured into a plastic can lid for several hours. Then take the syringe and blow it through the nozzles with sharp movements of the piston. In many cases, this simple procedure will restore the printer to work.
Step 6
If the printer has not worked for a long time and the print head has dried out thoroughly, prepare special solutions to clean it - acid, neutral and alkaline. Acidic: 80% distilled water, 10% alcohol, 10% vinegar essence. Neutral: 80% water, 10% alcohol, 10% glycerin. Alkaline: 70% water, 10% ammonia (ammonia), 10% alcohol, 10% glycerin. Keep the head in turn in each solution for at least a day, then purge with a syringe.
