Car radios are a great way to communicate between vehicles. These devices are very relevant for truckers, drivers of passenger transport and for other car owners who often move along the highway. They help not only warn other road users about approaching the traffic police patrol, but also help the driver call for help if necessary.
Instructions
Step 1
Get a car radio. If your car has a niche for installing it, you can easily put it there. If there is no such place, then it is installed in absolutely any place. At the same time, it must be easily accessible and have excellent ventilation to prevent overheating of the device.
Step 2
Do not mount the walkie-talkie where there is an airflow path from an air conditioner or stove. Quite often, the radio is installed under the glove compartment or between the driver and passenger seats.
Step 3
Determine the most convenient place from your point of view for attaching the car walkie-talkie and mark the holes there for installing the mounting bracket. It comes with the device. Do not forget to consider protecting your radio from theft. It can have a removable sled or it can be cut into the front panel.
Step 4
Drill the holes for the fasteners. Before you start drilling, check that you are not touching the car's electrical wiring. It is not always easy and quick to restore it after damage.
Step 5
Determine the power supply voltage required for your car radio. If the radio is incorrectly connected to the power source, the output power of the device will decrease. It is best to connect the walkie-talkie to the battery directly, namely, to its terminals (plus and minus).
Step 6
Use copper wires to connect the radio to power. Avoid crossing the power cord with suspected sources of interference. For this, use a ferromagnetic wire shield that is protected against oxidation.
Step 7
Select the correct installation location for the antenna after installing the car radio in the car. Ideally, you can place the antenna on the roof in the center of the cab itself. Connect the cable between the antenna and the radio.
Step 8
Entrust the setup of the equipment to professionals.
