Satellite TV allows you to watch TV channels anywhere in the world, which is very convenient for those who live in isolated settlements or outside the coverage area. To enjoy watching TV, first of all, you need to correctly tune the satellite dish to the desired satellite.
It is necessary
a set for connecting a satellite dish
Instructions
Step 1
Find out the location of the Hotbird satellite and the frequencies of the transponders associated with it. To do this, you can use the Satellite Transponders software, which can be downloaded from any satellite TV site. Launch the program and select the Hotbird satellite. As a result, you will receive not only the information you need to configure, but also information on television channels, providers and their broadcast frequencies.
Step 2
Find out your location relative to the Hotbird satellite. This is necessary to determine if you are within its coverage area. You can view the Hotbird coverage map on the Internet, for example, at www.lyngsat-maps.com.
Step 3
Download Satellite Antenna Alignment software. It allows you to determine how to correctly point and place a satellite dish in order to receive a signal from the Hotbird satellite. It is enough to launch the application, enter the geographic coordinates of your city and select the desired satellite. As a result, you will get the direction and angle at which to place the antenna.
Step 4
Place the satellite dish in the desired position, but do not fasten it too tightly. The fact is that you may still need to turn it to pick up a better signal. Connect the dish to the receiver and connect it to the TV. If you are tuning yourself and the antenna is far enough away, it is recommended to use a small portable TV and find the Hotbird satellite without leaving the satellite dish.
Step 5
Turn on the receiver and open the Antenna Installation menu. Specify the Hotbird satellite, select the transponder frequency or click on the "Search for channels" button. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the connection, try rotating the satellite dish. Do this very slowly, checking the TV signal status each time. Once you have found the optimum position, secure the antenna position firmly.
