The American company Polaroid was founded 75 years ago, but gained the greatest fame at the end of the last century, having launched the production of instant photography cameras. In this century, digital technology has almost pushed Polaroid out of the market, but in the past two years the company has been trying to reclaim what was lost by regularly introducing new models of cameras to potential buyers.
More recently, three new Polaroid products have become available at once - the Z340E instant camera, its smaller brother PIC300 with a design from Lady Gaga and the GL10 instant photo printer. And at the beginning of 2012 at the annual consumer electronics show CES 2012 in Las Vegas, Polaroid presented the concept of yet another novelty - a “smart camera”. Its electronic filling runs on the same Android operating system that is used in cell phones. And the shape of the body, along with the control interface, is very similar to any smartphone, with the only difference that it has a telescopic telescopic lens with a threefold magnification. A 3.2-inch display screen with a resolution of 800x400 pixels occupies most of the back of the camera body, and a 16-megapixel CCD matrix is used to digitize the image.
In addition to camera functions, the device has a built-in FM receiver and GPS navigator, and the Wi-Fi interface allows you to connect to cellular networks of GSM and WCDMA standards in order to immediately post the taken pictures on popular photo hosting sites on the Internet. Computer processing of photographs provides for red-eye elimination, face detection, color correction, etc. The device has the designation Polaroid SC1630 Smart Camera and is slated for release this year for about $ 300.
And in the summer of 2012, Polaroid unveiled another new product - the Z2300 Instant Digital Camera. Unlike the previous camera, this sample has the main highlight of the company's cameras - the ability to instantly print photos using Zink technology. However, the new device retains many of the capabilities of the SC1630 Smart Camera, including processing the captured images without connecting to a computer and the ability to send photos to the Internet. However, the placement in the compact body of the device for instant printing of 5x7.5 cm pictures required the use of a slightly smaller display (3 inches diagonally) and a more modest matrix (10 megapixels). The manufacturer's recommended price for such a camera with a 32 GB SD card and a set of 50 sheets of special photo paper is about $ 185.
