Many TV models have a special child lock function, which is activated by a specific combination of buttons on your remote control and deactivated in the same way.
It is necessary
- - remote control;
- - instruction.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember the combination you entered to lock your TV. Enter the same combination on your remote control and check if the lock disappears. Please note that different manufacturers have their own locking system, however, in some cases, the steps to remove the lock may be the same.
Step 2
Try pressing the Display button on your remote for a long time (sometimes even up to two minutes). Also try other buttons on your remote, such as sound or channel switching buttons. Check for other buttons related to your TV setup that are not related to the digital part of the remote.
Step 3
Find the instructions for your TV, read the menu item regarding unlocking the TV's childproof lock. If for any reason you do not have one, download it from the manufacturer's official website, having previously selected your TV model in the menu. Do not use instructions from similar models, everything should match.
Step 4
Open the instructions and look at the last pages, usually the universal unlock code is indicated on the last pages, which is why it is not recommended to use instructions from other models.
Step 5
If you do not have a remote control for your TV, purchase a device suitable for your model at your nearest radio sales points. Please note that if you do not find a remote control specifically for your model, you can try using another remote control device from any model of this manufacturer, however, this does not work in all cases.
Step 6
If the various combinations do not help you, contact a dedicated TV service center. Also, if the manufacturer's warranty has not expired, you can call their technical support service, and, having named the model and serial number of your TV, receive instructions for unlocking.
