The cartridge chip can be reset in one of two ways: using the programmer or by replacing this part. In any case, you can always resort to the services of service centers if you do not find the necessary devices in the stores of your city.
Necessary
Replaceable chip or programmer with firmware for flashing
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase a special cartridge refill kit for your model. This usually includes toner and a replacement chip. There are also options with toner and a special device for flashing the chipset.
Step 2
Disassemble the cartridge, clean its container and other components from ink residues in order to avoid streaks during printing in the future. Refill toner, reassemble the cartridge, leaving only its chipset. If you have purchased a replacement chip, simply reinstall it to the location of the old one. In case you have a kit with a programmer, go to the flashing procedure. At the same time, look at the complete set, if the disk with the program for flashing the cartridge, download it from the Internet.
Step 3
Connect the programmer to the computer and perform the initial setup of the device in the installed flashing program. Connect the chip to the programmer, carefully studying its pinout.
Step 4
Open the firmware program of your choice for the cartridge, change the values of the parameters of several lines (it may depend on the program used), start the process. Wait until it finishes, then return the cartridge with the flashed chip to its place in the printer and print a test page. Sometimes you need to print up to 10 pages to check the print quality.
Step 5
Before flashing the cartridge, pay special attention to the procedure for changing some values in the firmware program, correct only those parameters that are indicated in the instructions for the version you are using. You can also assemble the programmer yourself if you have the skills to work with radio equipment.
