The color profile contains the data needed to transform the values of the color range. This includes information such as hue, color range, saturation, and more. The color characteristics of devices are transferred from color profiles to a color management system. There are several steps you need to take to create a color profile for your printer.

Instructions

Step 1

A color profile for a printer is installed from the Printers and Faxes folder. You can open it in one of several ways. Click on the "Start" button in the lower left corner of the screen with the left mouse button or click on the Win button (with the image of the Windows logo) on the keyboard. In the menu that opens, select the "Printers and Faxes" item.

Step 2

If the folder you are looking for is not in the Start menu, open Control Panel. In the classic display of the "Control Panel" folder, find among others the "Printers and Faxes" icon and click on it with the left mouse button. If the panel is displayed by category, look for the icon you want in the Printers and Other Hardware category. Also in this category is available the task "Show installed printers and faxes", you can select it.

Step 3

In the folder that opens, right-click on the icon of the printer that you want to associate with the color profile, and select Properties from the drop-down menu, a new dialog box will open. Go to the Color Management tab and click the Add button to open an additional Add Profile Mapping dialog box.

Step 4

In the window that opens, from the list offered, select a new color profile that will be associated with your printer, and click on the "Add" button in the lower right corner of the window. Click on the "Apply" button in the properties window of your printer for the new settings to take effect. Close the window by left-clicking on the OK button or on the "X" icon in the upper right corner of the window.

Step 5

To remove a printer color profile, open the Printers and Faxes section in Control Panel. Open the properties window of your printer, go to the "Color Management" tab in the window that opens. Select the color profile you want to remove and click on the "Remove" button. Apply new settings, close the window.
