The lock code helps protect your iphone from unauthorized access in case of loss or theft. After setting the code, you must enter 4 digits to access the functions of the device. But what if the lock code is lost?
It is necessary
- - iPhone PC Suite (for PC with OS Windows);
- - iFile (for PC with Mac OS);
- - plist Editor.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the device is jailbroken. This is necessary in order to be able to gain access to the file system of the device, without which it is impossible to reset the lock code.
Step 2
Download and install on your computer a file manager - iPhone PC Suite for Windows operating system or iFile for Mac operating system. Cydia's app store provides a wide range of file manager apps, from which you can always choose the one that suits you best.
Step 3
Connect iPhone to your computer and close iTunes, which automatically launches when a compatible device is found.
Step 4
Open the file manager application corresponding to your computer's operating system and point to your iPhone.
Step 5
Go to Private / var / mobile / Library / Preferences and make a copy of the com.apple.springboard.plist file.
Step 6
Open the created copy with the plist Editor application and find the code with the PasswordProtected value of 1.
Step 7
Change the code value to PasswordProtected 0 and save the modified file.
Step 8
Replace the original com.apple.springboard.plist file with the modified one and place it in Private / var / mobile / Library / Preferences.
Step 9
Right-click on the field of the newly created file to open the context menu and go to the "Attributes" item.
Step 10
Enter 600 and restart your iPhone. This will reset the device to factory defaults, but retain all other data.
Step 11
Use an alternative method to partially reset your lock code (iOS 4.1 only).
Step 12
Press the emergency call button and enter any four arbitrary characters.
Step 13
Press the Call button and immediately press the lock key. This will open the iPhone phone application with the owner's contact list.
Step 14
Use the phone app to access the photo app. Access to the main menu of the device remains impossible.
