The mobile network settings control the communication of the cellular network for the mobile device. Changing these settings may be required if you experience connection problems.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the main menu of the mobile device and go to the "Settings" item.
Step 2
Select "Phone", "Network", "Communication with devices", etc. (depending on your phone model) and select the options you want.
Step 3
Define the network you are using in the "Active network" section and select the "Automatic" mode to automatically search for your home or preferred network and connect to it, or use the "Manual" option to select the desired network yourself.
Step 4
Disable Data Transfer mode if you want to reduce traffic and extend battery life. This action does not affect the ability to make and receive phone calls and receive SMS messages. Internet access and sending or receiving e-mail messages will only be possible when connected to Wi-Fi networks.
Step 5
Use a 3G connection for the fastest data transfer rate and turn off the 3G option if there are no networks or strong signal strength from other networks.
Step 6
Use the "Select Mode" option to define the type of mobile network and change the settings of your network profile to update your mobile device.
Step 7
Go to the "Change PRL" section if you need to use roaming and update the preferences provided by your mobile operator. Data roaming settings also determine the ability to transfer information outside the reach of your home network.
Step 8
Specify the desired values in the "Access point" section if it is impossible to transfer data in the network and disable the Wi-Fi option to preserve battery health.
Step 9
Take advantage of the option to cancel running updates provided by your mobile operator to reduce traffic and reduce cellular costs in the absence of an unlimited data plan.
