From time to time, mobile phone users find that a fairly large number of SMS messages have accumulated on their devices. To avoid losing important information, messages can be copied to a computer or other device.
Instructions
Step 1
Try to start by rewriting messages to a memory card or SIM card of the phone. To do this, go to the "Messages" menu and select the appropriate function. You can also create a so-called system backup, that is, save its current state using one of the special applications for your phone. As a result, the program will create a special file that will allow you to return SMS messages and other data in case of loss.
Step 2
Copy messages from your phone to your computer using one of several methods available. If your device comes with a USB cable, connect your phone to your computer through it. Otherwise, you can try to establish a connection via Bluetooth or infrared. After that, the operating system should recognize your phone as a storage medium and install the appropriate drivers. As soon as you see a message that the device has been successfully installed, you can proceed to the data copying process.
Step 3
Use a special program to exchange data (synchronization) between your phone and your computer. It is usually found on the installation disc that comes with the device. For example, Nokia phones use PC Suite. If you do not have an installation disc, download the required program from the website of your phone manufacturer.
Step 4
Install the program and wait until it detects your phone. Go to the "Sync" menu. In the list that appears, select SMS messages as a mandatory item when exchanging data. Follow the procedure. After its completion, the required data will be saved on your computer and available through the program. You can later transfer them back to your phone.
