The writing speed of discs in a computer drive can be changed using special software. A lot depends on this parameter, including the quality of the recorded files themselves.
Necessary
a program for burning discs
Instructions
Step 1
Download a program to burn discs to your computer. You can use Nero - this is quite convenient in cases when you need not only a program for burning files, but also additional functionality for working with multimedia files and disk image files. The disadvantage of this program is its price. Here you can either pay for its purchase, or use free alternative utilities, for example, CD Burner XP.
Step 2
Download it on the developer's official website, install it on your computer, and then proceed to the disc burning process. Further, the sequence for any software with similar functionality will be almost the same.
Step 3
Create a project to burn files to disk. Consider also its size - the size of the recorded files should not exceed it. After the recording project is created, go to the settings of the recording parameters. They open after the completion of adding files with a separate menu button.
Step 4
Specify the desired drive speed level. If you have an old enough drive model or need to record files with maximum quality and minimum data loss, use a low write speed, but be prepared for the fact that the process will take you much longer than you expected.
Step 5
If necessary, set the computer to turn off when the recording is finished, but it is best to check the box to automatically check the recorded files to make sure that the copying was done in the appropriate way.
Step 6
Start the process of writing files at the specified speed. If necessary, apply the setting of this parameter in the program's default menu. If you will burn a disc using standard Windows tools, set the speed in the drive parameters.
