The iconic iPod line from the world famous Apple is the world's best selling collection of iPods. Every year the iPod nano, shuffle, touch players are updated, but one thing remains unchanged - the closed operating system of the player and the synchronization of music via iTunes. This causes problems downloading music to iPod for newbies.

Step 1
The iPod is not recognized by the computer as a player due to the closed OS, and, therefore, you cannot "insert" anything into it from the PC, but you can only "copy" files from the player's memory to the computer's hard drive. One more nuance: even if it could be done, for example, through the jailbreak operation on the iPod touch, the music on the player might not have started playing. This is because Apple uses the AAC music file format, abandoning the usual MP3. This saves disk space on your iPod.
Step 2
But how do you download songs to your iPod then? You need iTunes to sync music to your player. It is absolutely free, has a Russian interface and is downloaded directly from the Apple website. After installing iTunes, connect the player to your computer. The iPod connected to the USB cable for the first time needs to be activated in iTunes.
After activation, in the column on the left, you will see the connected device - Apple iPod. Click on it, and in the window that appears, at the top, go to the "Music" tab. In the same place, select the folders with music or individual tracks that you want to download to the iPod from the iTunes library on your computer.
Step 3
To add music to your iTunes library, select "File" in the top menu and the sub-item "Add file to library" or "Add folder to library" if you want to add a whole music album at once.
Step 4
After the music uploaded to the player is determined, return to the main window of the device and press the "Synchronize" button at the bottom of the screen. Wait for the sync to finish and you will see that all tracks appear on your iPod.
